After careful consideration, debating, mulling over and general pondering, we have taken the leap to deadlocking my man's luscious locks.
It's been a mammoth decision. Surely you know by now how freaked out I get by hair changes, and Kaleb has exquisite hair. A perfectly shaped hairline, thick silky curls, natually ombred- I would give about anything for those tresses.
We're about 7 hours in so far and nearly half way thru. I can't quite see the end in sight just yet and my neck and shoulders will need some serious massaging after the task is completed. However, I've called in back-up, and thankfully they agreed, so at least I'll have an accomplice during tonights go round.
I'm excited to see the end result. I always thinks he looks good, but I think this will suit him. Sorry no photos yet, it's still a bit of a mess- with hot pink rubber bands throughout and all sectioned off into twisties.
Anyway, the time has come to get back at it-
Hair we go again. . .
p.s.- what are you up to? I need some juicy tid-bits to read as I work?

ReplyDeleteI was just wondering what "deadlocking" (as in your post) means when I thought you probably mean dReadlocking? haha. I am biased... He is the type that might look good with dreadlocks but yeah he has pretty asweome hair for a dude so it would be a petty to deadlock it haha. Post pictures! We're off to try the menue for our wedding today, so I'm hoping for an awesome dinner :)
ReplyDeleteHair we go again... haha so punny. Wow! What an undertaking! Excited to see how it looks. I usually like dreads on a guy, which my husband always laughs at and finds surprising.. haha. :) We have been making a photo calendar for my in laws with pictures of our cat 'playing' (read: interrupting) board games with us. It will be part of their Christmas gift this year. They watch her when we are out of town so it seemed like kind of a fun thing. And we and his family are really big on board games, so it works I think. Getting her to interrupt a few more board games so we had a full calendar took some time and then being indecisive in the design. - not very juicy.. but it's what's going on here. :) Good luck! my husband had dreads when we first met and i tried briefly in high school. i know it is a long process and once the structure has been built .... it can take years for them to hold on their own. this is quite the undertaking! so, so fun though. i do not have anything juicy to share. ha ha. wolfgang just pooed in the bath tub, so that's something. hahaha. and we are getting ready to go cut a christmas tree! i can't wait for photos of this dread locking! xo

Seven hours?! That's quite the challenge and especially as you're not quite yet finished as well! My brother started growing his hair long last year and I've been amazed at how quickly it's grown - it takes some getting used to though after having seen him with very short hair for so many years! Have a lovely weekend! :)

Seven hours is quite a long time. How long will it take total? I know very little about this process. I can't wait to see the finished product! No juicy tid-bits here, yet. I am however about to go move the car and that always proves to be an adventure.

I'm excited to see it! My little sister nearly dreaded her hair while she was in college, but ended up changing her mind. One of my teens has dreads right now and she really likes them. She was talking to me about them again last night. I bet Kaleb's will look great! I look forward to seeing the pictures!

ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend would die to be able to have dreads (he's rocking the Prince William - I tell him all the time that he will never have to wonder if hair is important to me). I do think a picture in of the process with the hair elastics would have been fabulous but I'll take one of the finished project, I guess.
