fall fail

I feel everyone is writing of fall. Crisp golden leaves swirling to the ground. Mugs filled to the brim with something hot, warming you all the way thru. Your favorite pair of socks possibly stolen from a beloved. Scarves, chunky knits and riding boots. Pumpkin spices weaving thru chilly breezes.

And I'm just not there.

It's near a hundred degrees outside and we're gearing up for a jaunt to the beach. I'm in cut off jean shorts grasping for  those last dregs of summer.

Maybe in October. . .

  5. Heading to the beach sounds like a perfect weekend. I think I'm finally fully ready for the change of seasons but the temperatures by me have been up and down the last week weeks and it's definitely confusing. Not quite ready for pumpkin spiced everything yet. Please soak up the last bits of summer for me and have a lovely weekend!

  11. The other day we went to the store and they had pumpkins out and it was SO hot it just didn't feel right! In my car it said 106! It's hard to feel like fall when it is so hot!

  13. Haha you are right... For some of us fall may come too soon and I understand that you still wanna hold on to summer. I try to grab the last sun rays as well haha. But... I do look forward to fall, and I am kinda ready for it, since I had a lovely summer already. Lucky us, time runs fast and before you even know, it will be spring again ;-).

  14. I can't get into the fall spirit either. It's just way too hot! I did get a fall scented candle though. It's help.

  17. Well, I'd rather have summer all year long, so I'm a little jealous of you :)

  18. I'm all ready for fall, but I don't live anywhere near a beach, or really water of any kind. If I lived near the beach I wouldn't be quite ready to let go of summer either. :)

  19. Although I love fall and winter, our season came early this year, and already I'm missing long days at the beach. So I hope you get out there and enjoy the warmth and sand for all of us snuggled up inside houses!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog to have a read-it brightened my day. I'm so glad I could discover your beautiful blog in return! It's really wonderful, and I'm sure to become an avid reader :)

  20. the funny thing about blogging is how ubiquitous themes can be - seasons, holidays, trends - the writing seems everywhere! if you're feeling summer - do it up - more power to you for being unique :)

  21. YES! This is exactly how I feel! I am still clinging to summer! Which hasn't been hard since it was still 95 degrees last week, haha! This week it's in the mid-80s which I don't expect to last. Memphis stays pretty toasty until early October (and sometimes even later). Fall is great and all, but I love summer so much! :)

  22. i love your description of fall and couldn't agree more. it's a heat wave in southern california and it feels like Africa in the Summer--no way am I ready for fall! (but honestly, I feel like a lot of fashion bloggers just dress for fall for show...)

  23. I couldn't agree more, it is still so hot out! I cannot bring myself to even order a pumpkin spiced latte at starbucks. I'm already itching for it to get cooler, let's hope that autumn hurries up and gets here soon!
