Television, Newspapers and Bikes- Oh My!

So yes, I do love terrible television (read- The Bachelor! How have I missed every season until now! It's the craziest, most addicting show, I've ever seen.) Yep, I did get married when I was twenty-one on spring break of my senior year in college, I did have three babes in three years, I do have an unexplained and very strange quirk with newspaper- can't touch them! Freaks me out. Yes, everyone wraps my gifts in newspaper as a joke- it's not funny. I was at one point in my life Miss Dance of the Mid-South, and now I can hardly touch my toes. Yes, I haven't worked out in three months, it's a real problem. I have zilch, nada, zero skills with interior design, I have never learned to properly ride a bike, and I have an addiction to cake pops- they are just so good! Yes, I like to pretend I'm a woodworker, a outdoorsman and an artist. I have extremely long femurs, I'm quite proud of them. Next to Christmas, my favorite holiday is St. Patricks Day, and yes- life is a big ole bowl full of blueberries- wild a bit crazy but with a whole lot of pop in your mouth good:)

p.s. Check out my glasses- firmoo sent them to me to try out, and besides feeling like a pretty big deal, I love them. A little bit Potterish, which can never be bad, with a slight hipster edge, which makes me feel young- a total win!

  4. Haha I hate touching newspapers as well, every time I do I have to wash my hands immediately. It's both funny and cruel that people use that against you and wrap your gifts in it. You look absolutely stunning in the above photos and I seriously cannot get over little Eleanor's pigtails, they are too cute for words!

  9. The bachelor is good this season! But I did think he was a jerk for leaving all those girls behind last night on the "group" date.

  10. a.) I love terrible tv and watch it way to often despite feeling genuinely ashamed of myself
b.) I love those glasses! They're a little like the ones I wear...I hated having to wear glasses at first but now I kind of like the way they frame a face (and make you look smarter ;P)
    c.) newspapers are disgusting.

  11. Love the glasses... LOVE this post! LOL! But I'm completely allergic to reality TV. :-P And maybe I have a little malicious bone in my body, but your friends wrapping your presents in newspaper made me spit out my coffee! :-)

    1. Oh yeah- they all think they are so funny:) I remember one Christmas I was about 8 and I had on winter gloves and was using kitchen tongs to open all my presents! Needless to say, we laughed a lot.

  13. haha I love the newspaper part - it can really get messy touching that stuff. I used to work at a newspaper and my hands would be black some days! the ink easily rubs off... that's so mean of your family to wrap your gifts in newspapers though! mean, but a little funny. :P

  14. I love these photos. I love your glasses. Which pair did you choose?? I just got mine yesterday but they aren't showing up very tortoise-y. : / Oh well. I got married when I was 21, about to graduate, right after Christmas. I totally get it! :) Oh no, newspaper... that's so mean that they wrap your gifts in it... :(

Excited to hear which glasses you chose, I think they were maybe the pair I almost chose.... and didn't get.. haha

  20. I am usually addicted to the bachelor, but haven't watched a single episode yet this season... Time to catch up :). Love those glasses and I am pretty sure hair does not get any more perfect than yours. Although, those pig tails on little Eleanor are killing me. So cute!!

  23. Your pictures are the most gorgeous ever!! And the Bachelor…YES! I'm obsessed. My Mom and sister got me hooked last season, and now I can't stop. Who are you hoping for? And the newspaper thing…I get it! I'll touch it if I have to, but it's pretty gross.

  24. First, you and the babe are so beautiful and too cute. Those pigtails are giving me cavities. Second, you were a dancer? I have so many questions. Do you watch "Dance Moms" or "So you think you can dance"? What kind of dance? Third, I have also started watching The Bachelor and I'm so embarrassed for all the women. You can't shake off that kind of crazy. I don't care how many charming t.v. interviews they may give. I love it tho!

  26. I'm getting some new glasses next week. I'm far too excited about it. I've never seen a single episode of the Bachelor. It is because we don't have a cable and only watch things on Amazon not because I'm above it.

  29. I have been craving some movement! that may sound weird, but there's just something about dancing- it makes my world feel right. I teach my daughter and some of her other little homeschool friends and it's very cute, but I want to boogie myself:)

  30. Oh my, I cannot even remember- it was a bit of an impulsive pick. I mistakenly was trying to get something done with the kiddos about and things got crazy- I saw the tortoise color and went with it- thankfully it turned out great:)

  31. Well, I'm a newbie too, and I honestly have no idea why it's so good, because believe me it's really quite terrible!

  32. Lol, it sounds so risqué doesn't it?! It's really not near as exciting as it sounds. We got engaged at the end of November, and as I was never that big wedding planner, who dreamed of this day my whole life kinda girl, I really just wanted to get married and start our lives. Spring break was the closest date open and seemed like a good time to have a wedding and get a honeymoon in. We went for it:)

  33. Tough question- hmmmm, there's not just a stand out for me, although I like the chiropractor assistant girl. He seems to be pretty smitten with Brit, though I'm not sure she's quite cut out for farm life:)

  34. Thanks Naomi- you are too kind! I'm telling you Barefoot Blonde and her beach waves has changed my life, well my hair life as least:)

  35. Oh I love this! I can sooooo totally relate. This was like reading about myself :) Your photos are absolutely gorgeous! Such a fun post!! xo

  36. Love it :) I was never 'that girl' either... we had a small wedding and only invited our parents. It was perfect.

  37. I got married when I was 21 too! :) And I too love the Bachelor even though it's awful, haha! Do you have a favorite this season? I've been a Britt fan from the beginning, but honestly I think she's too good for him. I'm hoping she'll be the next Bachelorette. ;) And if you ever want to watch an old season... watch Sean's! He was absolutely my favorite!
