oh the wonderful things kids say

When asked a question about what his mom was like, Isaac replied- "she's a clever gal."

Aussie gushing to friends about her baby sister- "She has learned to say 'please' she just says AAAAGGGHHHH."

Zain-"Hey pretty lady" when I walked into his room.

The Ice-Man (aka Isaac) still uses the f sounds for a lot of words. Example- truck, well, you can figure it out from there- slays me every time.

We were invited to a family's house for dinner recently, they have a few kiddos and one is adopted. A gorgeous little girl from China. I told Aussie they were celebrating her 'gotcha day' and Aus was so confused. I explained that she is adopted and asked "have you ever noticed that she looks different from her brother and sister" Being that they are all red heads I thought it may be obvious.  Aussie says-" nope, they look like a beautiful family to me."  Exactly.

"I want to be a man, just like Daddy"- Zain's answer to what he would like to be for Halloween.

Eleanor actually does say "look." She yells it while pointing at everything she sees."Look, Mamma, look!" She also sings "glory, glory, hallelujah" and it's the best thing ever!

I recently put a hoop in my nose and the night before an event Aussie asked if I was going to wear it. I assured her that I would of course change it if it bothered her, to which she replied- "no, Mamma I think it looks beautiful."

Isaac-"Ahhhh, your poor head." Me- "What's wrong with my head?" Isaac- "It's all dark down the middle." ha, guess it's time to go get some highlights, love the honesty of a child.

Our cows have been going thru a 'season' shall we say. Aussie was telling me all about it-"Mamma, our bull calf and white face are bf's. They give each other piggy back rides all the time!

  1. Darling! I keep a notebook of things my two say and made several 'scrapbook-y' type quote books from when my son was little. By some miracle, one of them remained in the house and we were looking at it last night. We were laughing SO hard!!! One of them: My son was worried about breastfeeding when I told him I was pregnant with his sister (he liked milk a lot!) and one night before bed, he was a little tearful about it. The next morning he woke up and said, 'I know!' (pointing to my right breast) 'This one's for me' and then pointing to my left one, '...and this one's for the baby'.....

  3. This is so sweet. Kids really do say the funniest things. My youngest sister is 7 and she says so many funny things. After a long day on vacation she sat in her car seat (maybe 3 or 4 years old) and just said quietly 'oh my feet, oh my feet, oh my feet'. She also told us that dinosaurs were extinct that same year. Recently she's getting a little more sassy. Your kiddos are so lovely, how fun for them to have each other to play with! Thank you for stopping by my blog, as you could probably see, our cat is our baby right now. :) XO - Alexandra

  11. Oh my goodness... this is the funniest and cutest thing I have read today. Maybe even this whole week. I really cracked up at the last one... so funny. I love how innocent kids are. I also love how Aussie didn't even notice the little adopted girl looked different than the other kids. Gosh, kids are just great! So honest too! The world would be a better place I bet if we all acted more like children... well, you know what I mean. ;)

  14. So funny! Zain sounds like quite the smooth-talker haha

My sister's kids are always coming out with the funniest stuff (there are 4 of them as well). They live a plane ride away from us so we only get to see them about once or twice per year, but they are getting to the age now where they really have memories of us and know who we are. This year one of my nephews was asking about who I was and said, "Who is that? Spencer's girlfriend?"..which was hilarious because I'm their aunt by blood! But they just think he is sooo cool.
